Radisson Hotel Admiral Toronto – Harbourfront – Review

We stayed at this beautiful hotel during our visit to Toronto for one night by using the free night certificate that we earned during Club Carlson’s “Buy One, Get One” promo, where you could earn a free one-night stay certificate just for staying one night at any Radisson in the U.S.

The hotel rate for the night of our stay was going for $189 Canadian dollars, or about $183 per night at that day’s exchange rate. Parking is a flat $21 CA per day, which is pretty expensive, but with the free night that was really the only cost to our stay.  The parking garage is directly connected to the hotel lobby through an elevator, so this helps when it’s winter time.

Getting there:

The hotel is a couple of blocks southeast of Rogers Center, the Toronto Blue Jays’ ballpark in downtown, and it’s right on the lake shore, so you can’t miss it. Checking in was fast and simple, and I was welcomed as a Club Carlson Silver member.

The room:

We got there pretty late, just past midnight, so I didn’t bother to request a room upgrade as we were only sleeping for the night. The room was pretty spacious, and the bed was very comfortable.

The bathroom was very nice, with a large counter with lots of space, some toiletries and even a phone! The shower’s water pressure was great.

The room also had a really spacious mini-fridge and a coffee maker.

The view wasn’t the greatest since as I mentioned before, we checked-in really late, but I could have gotten a much better room had we gotten there earlier. We just didn’t really have a need for it.

Service and other features:

By far, the most impressive feature of this hotel is it’s hospitable staff.  Up to par with Canadian standards. We received a personalized welcome letter from the hotel’s team, a gift box of cheese and pretzel snacks, a chocolate truffle, and complimentary bottles of water. We also received a welcome note from our housekeeper.

We also received complimentary Wifi with my Club Carlson Silver status.

Other amenities:

The hotel has a restaurant and lounge on the 5th floor, right by the pool. Part of the lounge overlooks the lake. We visited it, but did not try it, as we wanted to leave the hotel early and see part of the city.

Overall impression:

We wish we could have stayed at this hotel a bit longer and more than a single night. The hotel is in a great location, as the lake shore has lots of activities and things to do all day long, and there are many attractions nearby. The service quality was great and this makes it a great location to consider when visiting Toronto, which is a beautiful city, with lots of attractions and things to do. If you need to plan your stay at this property and want enough points for a free stay, the U.S. Bank Club Carlson Premier VISA Signature card is a great place to start.
