DoubleTree Key West Review

Prior to the Hilton devaluation, I managed to round up a few rooms on points at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Key West.

Although this property is not directly on Duval Street or within walking distance, it’s still a very good option.  They run an hourly shuttle to 2 difference spots downtown, which comes in really handy, especially since we were traveling with a group and parking downtown can be a pain and pricey. The hotel’s website has self-parking priced at $10, but we weren’t charged for it and it appears it currently isn’t being enforced.

Having gold status, they gave us some bags with water and cookies at check-in.  The check-in process was fast.

Rooms & Property

Our rooms were great with pool views.  Both the rooms and the property as a whole was very well maintained and clean.

This property has an excellent full hot breakfast buffet.  Again, as gold members we received vouchers for 2 free breakfasts per room.

This is an excellent option when visiting Key West.  It’s not a large resort but it’s smaller size with excellent service gives it a really nice touch.  I would definitely consider staying here again.

Where do I start. We paid our room for $180 a night and the rooms were mediocre at best and the view was TERRIBLE. Also the breakfast, I don’t know if you have ever stayed at a cheap hotel but breakfast is INCLUDED in the stay and this is a RESORT. We went down to the lobby and were seated for a typical hotel breakfast and then before we left we were handed a bill for $32. I would NEVER recommend this hotel, go someplace else. However the staff amazing but that is only a small perk.

Alexandra, make sure you leave the comments on TripAdvisor so that everyone else can see them as well. At least you can help other travelers know how the hotel is doing. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. $180 is definitely on the high end for a hotel like this, although do keep in mind that high season in Key West can bring prices ridiculously high. Not sure when you stayed.
