Costco members save 10% off Hyatt stays

This is yet another reason why I love Costco and I think that the $55 basic annual membership more than pays for itself. If you have a Costco membership, not only can you save a lot of money via Costco Travel, but you can also save 10% at certain Hyatt properties (as long as their partnership is available anyway).

Terms and conditions say that the discount doesn’t apply to the Park Hyatt brand. Although the terms are silent, it appears that this promotion is restricted to the U.S. hotels, since a quick search for Tokyo, Paris, Berlin and London hotels yielded the same rates with or without the code. I also did a quick search for New York, San Francisco and L.A. properties, and some of them did not yield a discounted rate, while others yielded a discount lower than 10%, but a lower rate nonetheless.

For instance, when I look for properties in L.A. for one night on September 14th, 2013, some properties apply the discount while others don’t .

Their terms do say that blackout dates apply, so my best guess is that individual properties decide if and when to apply the discount.

Either way, if you are a Costco member and have Hyatt stays in your future, consider using this discount to save some money while staying with Hyatt. The offer code that needs to be entered is COSTCO, and the Corporate Group Code code is 66267.

Terms and conditions say that you must show proof of Costco membership upon arrival, but I’m willing to bet that the hotel might not ask for proof of membership. Just in case, I always carry a picture of my Costco membership card on my iPhone.
