Westin Puerto Vallarta – Review

I had the pleasure of visiting The Westin in Puerto Vallarta.  The resort was especially nice and  it’s only a Category 2 (soon changing to category 3) in SPG’s program!  Every worker which I encountered was extremely nice, smiling and helpful, which made the stay much more enjoyable.

Westin - PVR 1

Grounds and rooms were very clean and well maintained.

All rooms face toward the water so most have an ocean view.  From the ninth floor the view was spectacular.

Westin - PVR 4

The beaches are not your typical long sandy beaches but the views are jaw dropping!  Mountain side and occasionally overcast with your typical Mexican beach peddlers offering you all sorts of trinkets.  Having been to other Mexican destinations, the peddlers here although definitely present, seemed less persisting.

With this resort being a Category 2, it can be had for only 4,000 SPG points per night!  That is a great deal, which I would definitely recommend!  The SPG program is re-categorizing this property effective March 5, 2013 to category 3 which requires 7,000 a night.  Still a deal, but if you have points and are planning a trip there, book by the end of the month and they will honor the old rate.
