Westin O’Hare – Review

Had the pleasure of visiting the Westin O’Hare for a few nights.  First thing I’d say is that if you are looking for a hotel close to the airport to avoid the Chicago traffic, this is a great choice.  It’s only a 10 minute cab ride from the airport and they also operate a shuttle that runs to the airport and back.

Reception/Check-in

The check-in was extremely fast and I was quickly acknowledged as a Gold member and offered the welcome points.  This property also participates in the Green Choice program which I quickly opted for in order to get an extra 500 points per night.

Room

The room was very comfortable, well maintained and well furnished, although it didn’t have a fridge.  Even if empty it’s always nice to have a fridge to put some water in, so an ice bucket had to do for this time.

Fitness Room

This property not only has a decent fitness room, but they have a nice indoor pool. Being from Miami seeing an indoor pool is still a novelty for me.

Area

This property has a few good restaurants around it and luckily there was a Giordano’s within walking distance of the hotel.  I got in a bit late, but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have famous Chicago deep dish pizza!  Mmmmm!

Giordanos

Although not within walking distance but still very close there is also a Gino’s East!

Overall, it’s a great property close to the airport great for business meetings and/or conferences.
