Hyatt “My Elite” rates available for Platinum members too

One of the benefits of being a Hyatt Diamond member, which you can obtain either by meeting the nights or stay requirements or completing the Hyatt Challenge, is being able to book rooms at a lower rate (generally 20% lower), using your Diamond “My Elite” rates. The rates are built into your account profile, so as long as you are logged into your account and you don’t enter any other coupons for special rates, the lower rate will simply show as one of your booking options. Sometimes the rate is even lower than the posted non-refundable rate.

Hyatt-My-EliteWell there seems to be a bit of good news for those who do not hold Diamond status. It appears that Hyatt has now made available the My Elite rate for Platinum members as well (for now). Platinum is Hyatt’s mid-level tier, and you are eligible for benefits such as free internet , access to preferred rooms when available, 15% bonus points on bookings, and late checkout.

The easiest way to achieve Hyatt Platinum status is by getting the Chase Hyatt Visa card (not our referral link)  which gives you the automatic status, and two free night vouchers when you spend $1,000 within the first 3 months of card membership at any Hyatt property worldwide. I got the credit card last year as part of one of my credit card churns, and we really got our vouchers’ worth by booking two free nights that were going for almost $600 each at the Hyatt Times Square for the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop.

While the Hyatt My Elite rate is exclusive to Diamond members as a standard benefit, by looking at my own account, it appears Hyatt has made this benefit available to Platinum members through December 31, 2014.

Hyatt-My-Elite-rateThis is one feature that makes the Hyatt Chase Visa a lot more attractive for the remainder of this year, so if you’re planning on staying at some Hyatt properties on some paid stays, getting the card and putting the required spending will be a great way to save some money and also get two free nights that you can use later on in the year.
