Purchase Club Carlson and get up to 50% bonus points

Club Carlson is offering up to 50% bonus points when purchasing points in the following increments:

– 5,000 to 10,000 points, 20% bonus
– 11,000 to 30,000 points, 30% bonus
– 31,000 to 40,000 points, 50% bonus

If you pay with your Club Carlson VISA card, you get 10 points per dollar spent on the purchase.

You are limited to purchasing 40,000 points per year, so if you’re like me and purchased the maximum 40,000 points during the June Club Carlson flash sales, then  you’re not eligible.

Points are available for $7 for every 1,000 points, so the maximum you can spend are $280. For this amount when you factor in the bonus, you will get 60,000 points. The points can potentially be worth 120,000 if you use them all for two-night stays using your Club Carlson VISA and take advantage of the last night free feature. So far since I’ve had the Club Carlson VISA I have exclusively booked two-night stays in order to maximize my points.

This deal makes sense either if you’re planning to top off your account for a redemption, or if you’re planning on staying at properties that are really expensive. Some Radison Blu’s in Europe can go for hundreds of Euros per night, but you can have them for two nights for only 50,000 points if you take advantage of the last  night free feature on your Club Carlson VISA card.

The bonus offer is available from until October 15, 2013. You can go to the promotion landing page using this link.

A bad deal. I can rent nice hotel rooms for less than what those points cost.

Jerry, partially agree. Like we mentioned, the deal doesn’t make sense for everyone. If you’re planning on staying a couple of nights at a local hotel you can certainly Priceline it and get a much better return. The truth is that not always can you get a “nice” hotel room, guaranteed, for $280 anywhere in the world. As an example, Radisson Blue at Champs Elysees in Paris, which is a trip I’m planning, two months from now goes for 50,000 points per night. Got the Club Carlson credit card? Then stay 2 nights for a total of 50,000 points instead of the usual 100,000. That hotel goes for 450 euros per night, which is $600 at today’s rate. I’d pay $280 to save $1,200 any day of the week, but each person has different goals and that’s why the deal is worth something different to each person.
