This is the last week of Daily Getaway deals

Starting today and through Friday, the last week of Daily Getaway deals gets under way.  Today they have the Hertz points sale, where you can buy from 5,000 to 15,000 Hertz points from $280 to $720 to redeem towards future rentals.

On Tuesday, Hilton Honors points are on sale, from 100,000 to 250,000 points. I’ve really sworn off Hilton points for a while now because of their huge devaluations and intrinsically low point value.

Wednesday has a few Vegas packages for sale, and some of them are excellent, like Circus Circus’ 3-night stay for a total of $140, including breakfast and dinner buffet for 2 during the stay. They also have higher end stays at properties like the Bellagio, Monte Carlo, Aria and Mandalay Bay. These are more expensive and shorter stays, and in any case, the supply of packages is very short, so if you’re game, you’ll need the luck!

Thursday is my personal favorite, as they’re selling Hyatt points for less than 1 cent per point when you factor in the American Express 10% discount. There’s a total of 165 packages for sale,  from 24,000 to 69,000 points, so you must act fast. For instance, a couple of months ago we booked the Hyatt Union Square in NYC for 18,000 points per night. That hotel was retailing for $559 per night at the time, so we got a value of over 3 cents per points. These points are definitely worth a shot if you can get your hands on them and can buy them.

On Friday, the final day of the deals, there are 25 packages for sale so far, and they are 10 for the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, AZ, and 15 for two Hawaii properties. The Hawaii properties are a reasonable deal, as you can get a total of 6 nights and breakfast for just $1,800, and if you’ve been to Hawaii you know how crazy the prices are not only for hotels, but for everything else as well. The Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui is an all-suites property, making the value even better if you can get your hands in one of these 15 packages, which have no expiration date.

Finally, remember that for any of these deals, you get an additional 10% off the sales price if you use any American Express card to pay for your purchase.

Good luck everyone!
