Chase increases Ink sign up bonus to 60,000 for limited time

For limited time and until Saturday, June 22nd, Chase has increased the sign up bonus to 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points (normally 50,000) for both the Ink Plus and Ink Bold credit cards when you spend a minimum of $5,000 within the first 3 months of getting the card. Besides the generous sign up bonus, these cards are in our opinion the best everyday spending credit cards, due to the powerful 5x category earning rates that they offer. With these cards, you can earn 5 points per dollar spent on cable, landline, internet and cell phone expenses, and for most households these expenses add up to a lot of money each month.

In addition to the type of expenses above, the card also pays 5 points per dollar spent at office supply stores (namely Office Depot, Office Max and Staples), so by taking advantage of some clever spending techniques, you can essentially get 5 points per dollar in many other categories, such as gas, restaurants, Amazon purchases, home improvement stores, etc.

Ultimate Rewards points are Chase’s point currency, and they are very valuable, as they can be transferred on a 1:1 basis to several major airlines and hotel programs, such as United, Southwest, Hyatt, Priority Club and Marriott, among others.

The cards also come with no foreign transaction fees, and pay 2 points per dollar in hotel and gas purchases, so when I stay overseas, my Ink is my number one choice card. The annual fee for the card is waived the first year.

If you’re on the market for a really solid card, you should consider applying for one of them. If you’re concerned about meeting the high minimum spending, here are some tips that will help you get creative to hit the minimum. A lot of these tips do not require any actual spending at all, so minimum spending should not be a problem for most people.

Reminder that you can get business cards even if you don’t have a business.  Read our prior post for more information on this.

If you already have Ink Bold, can you also get Ink Plus and get the bonus?

I haven’t done this, but I don’t see a problem with it. They’re two different products, so it should be ok.
